Dr. Michael O'Brien
Michael O'Brien, PsyD, HSPP
Dr. O'Brien is an independently licensed psychologist in the great state of Indiana as a Health Service
Provider in Psychology (HSPP). He is a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) and is a regionally recognized provider of psychological services including psychotherapy and psychological evaluations.
Dr. O'Brien earned his PsyD Degree (Doctor of Psychology) in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology in 1999. He also holds a master's degree in psychology from Ball State University (1993) and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Indiana University(1988). Dr. O'Brien has been in private practice since 2000.
Our Offices
Unlike some medical offices, which can be sterile, hospital-like, and not-very-relaxing places to be, we strive to provide clients a setting conducive to the work of psychotherapy and psychological evaluation. In the world of psychotherapy and psychological evaluations, the physical environment has a significant impact on the client's ability to relax and be open about what is on their mind.
O'Brien Psychological Services understands the importance of providing clients with a warm, friendly, and homelike atmosphere. In fact, our main office in Indianapolis looks like a home because it used to be someone's house.
Both our Indianapolis office and our Kokomo office are quiet and comfortable. Both sites have plenty of parking and both are wheelchair accessible. We use white noise generators to provide a discrete sound shield in our counseling and assessment rooms; thus, you can be certain what you say to us stays private.
Our Clients
Our clients come to us for help from various sources all over central Indiana: the general public, from colleges and universities, from medical practices and hospitals as well as from various federal and state agencies.
Dr. O'Brien volunteers his time for the "Give an Hour" program, which serves veterans and service members. This is his way of saying "thank you" to all service members for their sacrifices in defense of our freedom and liberty.
